4.5 ✈️ for the whole series4 ✈️ for On the Record: this book was a great start to the series. I really enjoy K.A. Linde's writing style. I was intrigued by the characters and the political scene. I also enjoyed the development of the relationship between reporter and politician.
3✈️ for Off the Record: I didn't love this book as much. I felt like I had to wait too long to see Liz and Brady. Having waited to read the series, I knew who Liz ended up with, so a good portion of the book left me disengaged. I lived for the Brady and Liz moments. I also didn't like how Hayden was portrayed. He was a such a good guy, and he is redeemed eventually, but it was hard to watch. The pay off of waiting was ultimately worth it.
4 ✈️ for For the Record: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was wonderful to see this couple come together and take on the challenges of the political field. Liz grew and become a character to respect. She matured and became and independent woman that refused to be hidden in the famous shadow of Brady. They do encounter several obstacles, but this only serves to show the strength and commitment of their relationship. The epilogue sealed the deal for me, and I hope we get to see Brady and Liz again in Clay's book.
So where did the .5 ✈️ come from?? The extra 1/2 point is for the writing style. While there are parts I felt like could have been condensed, the writing was flawless and well done. I have truly enjoyed everything I have read by this author, and I can't wait for Struck from the record.

For the Record edition by KA Linde Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
“Tonight when I have you all alone, I’m going to remind you exactly what happened the night you brought a Senator to his knees.”
Books in The Record Series should be read in order
Book 1 Off The Record
Book 2 On The Record
Book 3 For The Record
In Off The Record (book 1) and On the record (book 2) we followed Morehead scholar, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Journalism student and school paper reporter Elizabeth Dougherty, Liz, as she embarked on a clandestine affair with State Senator Brady Maxwell III whom she meet on the campaign trail while he was running for US Congress.
It was an impossible romance doomed from the start. Brady was on a set course to Washington that didn’t include a too young student. For Liz having an affair with a politician whose campaign she is supposed to cover impartially could jeopardize her career. And so a roller coaster began that spanned the campaign and beyond and brought us euphoric highs only to land at rock-bottom lows.
For the record (book 3) picks up at the ending of book 2. Brady and Liz have been through so much yet their biggest battles are ahead as it’s re-election year and everyone wants a piece of them. It’s an on pins-and-needles page-turner to learn what is coming back to bite them in the butt and who else is out to get them, sprinkled with… everything that is the swoon-worthy, beyond perfect Brady Maxwell III!
“Now back to business at hand. That dress belongs on the floor.”
BRADY MAXWELL III 28 years/Heir/$$$$/State Senator/Aspiring US Congressman/Dark brown hair/Brown eyes.
Nine words to describe Brady Maxwell III Captivating, frank, elusive, secretive, charming, focused, persistent, collected and unforgettable .
LIZ DOUGHERTY 21 years/Student/College reporter/Blond hair/Blue eyes.
Elizabeth Dougherty, Liz has come a long way…. Eight words to describe Liz Smart, focused, goal-oriented, naïve, immature, impressionable, reflective and forward-thinking.
For the Record is complex with many interesting characters and events, vividly told and weaved together in perfection. It is everything I could ever have hoped for in a book 3 and the ending to a saga I won’t soon forget.
Captivating plot! Brilliant story-telling! Larger-than-life Brady Maxwell III! Epic trilogy!
“I’ll always be your airplane.”

Would I recommend this series Yes.
Would I re-read this series Yes.
Would I read future books by this author Yes.
This is a series review for all three books...if you haven't read the first two pass on my review!
This review for The Record series by K.A. Linde is not a review I want to write….in fact I am dreading typing this up, because for me it means this series that I have come to love is over. I have loved every aspect of this series and looking back there is nothing in this series that I didn’t just adore. Don’t get me wrong, there was a long bought of angst going on throughout this series, but the way Ms. Linde wrote it with a mixture of love and happiness was pure perfection. If you follow me you already know I LOVE a political romance story and for me, The Record Series, is going down as one of my favorites.
You want to see me. I want to see you. Call me. If you don’t, you’ll regret it.
As I started Off the Record, I fell for Liz right away. There are not many female characters I can identify with, but with Liz I felt as if we were kindred spirits….I too grew up playing tennis, I too wrote for my college newspaper, I too worked the journalistic side of a political campaign and I too helped campaign for a couple of Politicians here in Georgia….sadly, where we differ most, was I never brought a Senator to his knees….haha! So let’s just say that I was pulling for this girl all along. She was smart, sassy, educated and very competitive. She was also, young, immature, jealous, stubborn but stealthily loyal and it was a combination of all those characteristics that made her the woman the Brady Maxwell would fall in love with. As we watched her grow over the course of this series, you saw her fight for what she believed in and ultimately it was the love of a Congressman she craved most.
“Are you going to kiss me?” she murmured.
“Senseless.”
Brady Maxwell, our Senator turned Congressman, is the type of man women dream about. Oh how perfect he was. Swoonworthy isn’t even the right word for him. He is a man who exudes class, confidence, cockiness, strength, power and most of all he can command a room. For a girl who thinks a politician is the sexiest of men, Brady ranks up there on my list of BBfs! I loved how whatever Brady wanted he typically got and the thing he wanted most was Liz. Their on again, off again relationship had such highs and such lows but you just knew he always loved her. When we get Brady’s POV in each of the three books, it made me fall for him more. Getting in his head and hearing his thoughts was just written brilliantly.
“You don’t have any secrets?”
“You’re my only secret.”
“I’ll keep that one,” he told her.
Throughout the series, the supporting cast members played a big part, and I loved getting to know them all. Some I didn’t like as much as and some I just fell in love with. The antagonists were written so well that I hated them as much as Brady and Liz did. I know that this series is over, but oh how I would have liked to have known how Clay and Savannah’s lives turned out. I felt truly invested in all of the family and tight knit friends.
This was the first series I have read by K.A. Linde. I learned that she can write angst and heartache with the best of them, but she is also an extremely educated writer knowing her politics and policies that added to the integrity of this series. I will say it again, I absolutely loved The Record Series. Brady and Liz where the perfect couple and I am really sad I had to say goodbye, but with the Epilogue I got the closure that I most definitely wanted…and needed. 5 “I voted for Maxwell” stars!
“…I’ll always be your airplane.”
