Cade and Phoenix...their father/son like bond was strong nearly from the beginning. Sabre does an astounding job of letting the reader into the link of these powerful 'others', his descriptive detail making you feel like you are a part of this emotional tale. I loved witnessing the way we see Cade and Phoenix's link flourish. Cade has the perfect combination of compassion and bravery with enough alpha mixed in to be the perfect teacher and role model for the young wolf, showing him the ways of 'The Society'. Here we watch With Cade's support we witness Phoenix grow from the frightened lost pup into his role as a pack member.

And Cade and Gemma? It was like a slow smoldering burn, feeling the incredible attraction between these two! Cade and Gemma's feelings growing stronger and more potent as the story unfolded. He couldn't keep his eyes off her and she couldn't stay away from him. My heart pounded when they finally came together as one! This was a love that had festered for years and finally blossomed into the perfect romance.

I have to be honest. I'm usually not a huge fan of fantasy romance but I took a chance on this one because I'm a fan of Mr Sabre, and I'm so glad I did! I'm looking forward with anticipation to the next book in this series!
This fantasy has it all...heart, romance, thrilling action, suspense, and some nice alpha males to enjoy!

Mason Sabre's writing technique is so incredibly different than any other author I've read. He has his own unique way of luring his readers into his tales and holding you captive to the very end. Its so refreshing to delight in a read unlike any other. Simply put...he has a way with words! I'd definitely recommend anyone add this to their soon to be read list!

I just finished this book and what a story! Mason Sabre has done it again with the second book of the Society Novel series. I was hooked from the first chapter. I fell in love with Cade, he’s such a loving person and a member of the Others who are shifters. The courage and determination that he has to do the right thing even if it costs him everything is astounding. Phoenix’s story also continues in this book and is so heart breaking you can’t help but have your heart swell for the little guy. Cade and Gemma grew up with each other. Gemma is Cade’s best friend’s sister. Will the love they have for each other be enough to survive through it all. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. It looks like there’s a war brewing between humans and Others and I’m so anxious to see what happens. I love it when a story leaves me wanting more!
This is the second book in the Society series. I loved this book! It is very well written. This story pulled me in. I really feel like I know these characters. I feel their love, pain and anguish.
I was introduced to Phoenix in the first book, a human boy who was bit by a wolf, and discarded by his family. All humans are taught to hate the others (shifters). Now he is a halfbreed, neither human nor other, wanted by no one, until Cade comes along, Phoenix would have died without him. The empathy he feels for this halfling and the bond he forms with him, goes against everything he has been taught.
Cade, (a wolf shifter) knows he should not help the boy, halfbreeds should not exist. The Society, (basically the government of the Others) has strict rules that Cade and all Others must follow. This does not stop Cade, with help from Stephen, his best friend and Stephens little sister Gemma, who are also Other, they break all the rules to help Phoenix.
Sparks fly between Gemma and Cade, they fight it for as long as they can. He is Wolf, she is Tiger, not to mention his bff's little sister. Mating between races is strictly forbidden, the penalty being death.
I have so much empathy for Gemma and Cade and absolutely love the smoldering, sexy scenes between the two!
Malcolm, who is head of the Society and Stephen and Gemmas father, is a fair man, but he upholds the laws of the Society, even if it's against his own children. Trevor, his second in command and Cade's father is devious, and cares for no one but himself. Definitely someone you love to hate, but also be very wary of. Then you throw in the humans, who would love to see all Others destroyed.
I would definitely recommend this book, it was so exciting to read! I can't wait to see what happens next! Moving on now to "Dark Veil" Society series book 3!
